At the intersection of 24th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, The Oval pops up each summer, offering an additional urban park to accommodate the flocks of Philadelphians who crave fresh air in the warmer months. Its blend of pavement and grassy lawns offer ample space for locals to spread out and enjoy the warm summer sunshine while it lasts.

The park is open from July 20th to August 20th, which means you have only one month to drink it all in. It's within walking distance of The Franklin Institute, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and The Barnes Foundation, so use it as a launchpad for the day. Start with a bite from one of the food trucks and a cold beer from any of the local breweries who set up booths, then head out for a day of exploration, or end your day here and ogle the beautiful strings of lights and lanterns overhead as you kick back in an Adirondack chair or gather around a picnic table.
